Are you a vegan or thinking about becoming one? Perhaps you’re on the fence. Taking the plunge and switching to this dramatically different but veryhealthy lifestyle can be a complicated and confusing endeavor.

It’s hard to know exactly how to transition to a plant-based diet, especially if you are a lifelong carnivore. Fret no more. VegMichigan’s 4th Annual Vegan Festival is almost here! And it is a great opportunity to learn about veganism while tasting some yummy examples of what a vegan diet has to offer. For free!

The VegMichigan 4th Annual Vegan Festival offers more than free samples of delicious vegan food. You can expect:

· Live Music

· Family Fun

· Nonprofit Booths

Try new foods, check out the live entertainment, plus browse a variety of plant-based vendors. Head out to beautiful Farmington, just 29 miles from Ann Arbor, on Sunday, September 15, to experience an awesome day of cool new adventures.

Try out plant-based Henna tattoos or go for a trigger-point massage from Journey to Health. Live music from cover band Sinjon Smith and an opportunity to witness a live juggling performance will also be on hand.

What is VegMichigan?

VegMichigan is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit vegan organization that has been around for 19 years. The organization encourages the public to discover the health and environmental advantages of making the switch to a plant-based diet. To this end, VegMichigan hosts free vegan food tasting events and free or low-cost vegan cooking classes.

Also, besides the annual vegan festival held in September, VegMichigan sponsors the largest one-day vegan event in Michigan. VegFest, held annually in April, features cooking demos and hosts over 150 vendors. Merchants showcase vegan, cruelty-free, and fair-trade products and services. The popular event attracts over 6,000 vegans, and potential vegans, annually. Expert and celebrity speakers have included Alicia Silverstone, Daryl Hannah and John Salley of the Detroit Pistons.
